Biography

Lynda Minter is well known for her paintings of London, Venice, and along the coast of the British Isles.

1983 St Martin’s School of Art BA Hons in Fine Art.

After college she went on to study at The Slade Summer School. Christie’s and Sotheby’s Art History

Numerous solo shows and commissions but the ones that stand out are:

2023/2006 Chelsea Arts Club

2023 Commission by the Verger at Westminster Abbey  a painting of King Charles III Coronation

2008 The Arts Club Dover Street artist in focus attended; by Professor Ken Howard, Sir Peter Blake, and Keeper of the Royal Academy Professor Maurice Cockrill 

2013 Artist in Residence at The River and Rowing  Museum, Henley  painting of The Queen Diamond Jubilee River Pageant in the Museums collection

2014 Winchester College a group of paintings from a College  visit to Normandy WWII

2004 Painter’s Stainers Prize at the Wine Trade Art Society at Christies’s

2022 Commissioned by the Gonville Hotel group  of paintings of Cambridge Colleges

Lynda has had work exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Discerning Eye, Chelsea Westminster Hospital, Art For Youth, Henley Royal Regatta, New English Arts Club, Mall Galleries, Russell Gallery, Piers Feetham Gallery, Christie’s wine Trade Art Society – Painter Stainer’s prize. Solo shows; at River and Rowing Museum, Wellington Barracks, Winchester college, The Arts Club, Dover Street, The Arts Club Chelsea, Gallery Tresco. Collections; at Gonville Hotel, Cambridge, River and Rowing Museum, Tresco Estate.

For Lynda painting is about sharing her love of nature and giving people a different way of seeing the World in a new imaginative way. Lynda enjoys engaging with the people with her own unique language, speaking directly and celebrating life through paint.
